7-day warranty · Ships across Canada

Warranty & returns policy

We cover functional defects on the hardware we sell, so that if something we tested stops working shortly after it reaches you, we put it right.

7days from the day it reaches you, or the day you collect it

The short version

If it develops a fault
We replace the machine with the same model, or one of equal or greater specification and condition. If we have nothing equivalent, we refund what you paid.
Getting it back to us
You send it to us, and we reimburse that cost when the claim is valid. We always pay for the return leg.
Changed your mind
We do not take returns for change of mind. Ask us before you order and we will tell you straight whether a machine suits you.

The full terms are below. The exclusions, and the limits on what we are liable for, affect your rights — so they are worth reading rather than skipping.

1.Definitions

In this policy:

(we, us, our)
means Elite Tech Hub.
(you)
means the person who purchased the item from us.
(item)
means the hardware you purchased, including anything supplied with it.
(functional defect)
means a covered component failing to perform the function it is designed to perform. It does not include cosmetic condition, wear, reduced battery capacity, or any characteristic disclosed to you before purchase.
(coverage period)
has the meaning given in section 3.

2.This policy is part of your contract

This policy forms part of your contract of sale with us. By completing a purchase you confirm that you have read it and agree to it.

We will provide you with a copy of this policy, and the version number in effect on the date of your purchase, with your order confirmation.

3.Coverage period

Coverage begins on the date the item is delivered to you, or collected by you, whichever occurs first, and runs for 7 days.

ComponentCovered for
Mainboard, processor, graphics, memory, storage, display panel, ports, keyboard, trackpad, wireless7 days
BatteryCapacity is not warranted — see section 5(f)
Cosmetic condition, casing, screen appearanceNot covered — see section 4
Operating system, drivers, pre-installed softwareNot covered beyond first successful boot

4.How the item is described

All items are sold in used, previously owned condition.

(a)
Where you inspect the item before purchase, this warranty does not apply to any defect that your examination ought reasonably to have revealed.
(b)
Where you purchase online, the item is sold in used condition as described in the listing specifications. Listing photographs show the actual item only where the listing states that they do. Where a listing does not say so, its photographs illustrate the model and do not depict the cosmetic condition of the individual item.
(c)
No item is sold by reference to the condition of a new item of the same model.
(d)
Any characteristic, mark, limitation or fault disclosed to you before purchase — in the listing, in writing, or in person — is excluded from this warranty, because it forms part of the goods you agreed to buy.

5.What is not covered

This warranty does not apply to:

(a)
Accidental damage, impact, drops, crushing, or pressure damage.
(b)
Liquid ingress or exposure to moisture.
(c)
Damage from electrical surge, incorrect voltage, non-original chargers, or faulty external power sources.
(d)
Damage, malfunction or data loss caused by software you installed, operating system reinstallation, malware, firmware modification, BIOS changes, overclocking, or altered thermal or power settings.
(e)
Damage or malfunction caused by disassembly, modification, or servicing by anyone other than us or a technician we authorised in writing.
(f)
Battery capacity. Batteries are consumable components whose capacity degrades with use and age. Batteries in used equipment will have reduced capacity and runtime compared to new, and are sold on that basis. A battery that does not charge or hold charge at all is a functional defect and is covered.
(g)
Cosmetic condition, including marks, scratches, dents, discolouration, screen blemishes and general wear, all of which are governed by section 4.
(h)
Consumable and wear items, including thermal paste, rubber feet, keycap lettering, and port retention.
(i)
Loss of data, loss of use, loss of profits, or any indirect or consequential loss. See section 12.
(j)
Items where the serial number has been removed, altered, or does not match our record of sale.
(k)
Third-party accessories, chargers, docks and adapters not made by the original equipment manufacturer, except where we supplied them and they fail within the coverage period.

6.Making a claim

To make a claim you must, within the coverage period, contact us and provide:

  • your order number and the item serial number
  • a description of the fault, including when it began
  • photographs or video of the fault, on request

Where a fault appears during the coverage period, you must notify us within 48 hours of discovering it.

We will issue a claim reference within two business days of receiving your claim. The coverage period is suspended from the moment you contact us until we issue that reference.

Please do not send the item to us until we have issued a claim reference. Items received without one may be refused or returned to you at your cost.

We may require the item to be returned for inspection before any remedy is provided. We will complete our inspection and notify you of the outcome within ten business days of receiving the item. If our inspection finds no fault, or finds a fault falling within section 5, we will notify you and return the item at your cost.

You must back up your data before returning any item. See section 11.

7.Our remedy

Where a valid claim is established, we will replace the item with the same model, or with a model of equal or greater specification and value and in comparable or better cosmetic condition, at our election.

Where no equivalent replacement is available, we will refund the purchase price paid for the item.

We may, at our option, offer to repair the item instead. You are not obliged to accept a repair.

Replacement units, and any parts used in a repair, may themselves be used or refurbished components in good working order.

Where a replacement is provided, the balance of the original coverage period carries over to it. It does not restart.

8.Change of mind

We do not accept returns for change of mind, buyer remorse, incorrect purchasing decisions, or compatibility with equipment we were not told about.

This section does not affect any statutory right of cancellation you may have, including under Alberta internet sales rules, and does not limit section 15.

9.Shipping on a claim

  • You are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. Where a claim is found valid, we will reimburse that cost.
  • Items must be sent using a tracked and insured service, and packaged adequately for transit. Damage caused by inadequate packaging is not covered.
  • Where a claim is found valid, we pay the cost of returning the repaired or replacement item to you.

10.Before you buy

We would rather answer a question than resolve a dispute. If anything about a machine condition, specification, battery, or what is included is unclear, ask us before you order and we will tell you straight.

11.Your data

You are responsible for backing up your data before purchase, before use, and before returning any item to us.

We are not responsible for the loss, corruption or disclosure of data stored on any item, including during inspection, repair or replacement.

Items returned for repair or replacement may be wiped, re-imaged, or have their storage replaced without further notice.

12.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 15:

(a)
Our total liability in connection with any item is limited to the purchase price you paid for that item.
(b)
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of data, loss of use, loss of profit, loss of business, or the cost of substitute equipment.
(c)
Except as expressly set out in this policy, and subject to section 15, all conditions and warranties implied by the Sale of Goods Act (Alberta) or otherwise implied by law are excluded.

13.Business purchasers

Where you purchase in the course of a business, section 15 does not apply and section 12 applies without limitation. You confirm that you do not rely on any statement, representation or warranty not expressly set out in this policy or in the item listing.

14.Who this warranty covers

This warranty is extended to the original purchaser only and is not transferable. It does not apply to items resold, gifted or otherwise transferred to a third party.

15.Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under any applicable legislation where that legislation does not permit it to be excluded, restricted or modified.

Where such legislation applies, this policy operates in addition to, and not instead of, those rights.

16.Governing law

This policy and any contract of sale to which it applies are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.

17.If something goes wrong with a claim

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a claim, contact us marked for the attention of the owner. We will respond within five business days.

18.Severability

If any provision of this policy is found unenforceable, that provision is severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue in full force.

19.Changes to this policy

We may amend this policy at any time. The version in effect on the date of your purchase governs your purchase. Each published version carries a version number and effective date, and prior versions are retained.
